Solution 1: Set up your Windows Firewall

Step 1: Press the ‘Start’ button on your keyboard. Step 2: Type in ‘Windows Firewall’ in the search bar for programs and files. Step 5: Now, right-click on the option that says ‘Inbound Rules’ and proceed to click ‘New Rule’. Step 6: Next, go under the ‘Programs’ tab and click ‘Next’. Step 7: Select the option called ‘This Program Path’. Step 8: Locate and click on the QuickBooks file and click ‘Next’. Step 9: Go ahead and choose ‘Allow the Connection’ and then click on ‘Next’. Step 6: Next, after you have selected the folder that contains your company file, click on ‘Scan’. Step 7: Once the scan is finished, the application will display all the company files that it found under the ‘QuickBooks Company Files Found’ list. Step 8: Locate and go to the company file folder and check if this folder contains the ‘Network Data (.nd) files.
